The Conductor

Andrew Stoddart was a music teacher for over 30 years, working in a number of London Schools as Head of Music and Head of Performing and Creative Arts Faculties. During that time he worked on a number of Educational projects with organisations and individuals that included English National Opera, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Simon Bolivar Choir, Royal Ballet, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Sir James Macmillan.

He started conducting the Bromley Concert Band in September 2017 after many years with them, playing the trombone.

Band History

Bromley Concert Band has been in existence since 1953. Based in the London Borough of Bromley we undertake a number of concerts each year in the South East. We have a full complement of 50 musicians, but can provide a band of smaller numbers if the occasion should require.

Bromley Concert Band has an extensive library of over 1500 pieces which means we can provide a programme to suit the requirements of any concert. Our repertoire covers a variety of genres including, Film/TV, Musicals, Big Band, Light Classical and traditional Wind Band music. We would be pleased to discuss a programme with concert organisers.

We rehearse every Friday from 7.45pm – 9.45pm at Bishop Justus School, Magpie Hall Lane, Bromley, BR2 8HZ. If you are interested in joining us please see details on the ‘JOIN’ page above.
